Birmingham, November 3rd, 2012: Terry Strickland, Alabama contemporary realist and figurative oil painter is showing 25 new paintings, at a one-day-only exhibit this November at the Art Folk Gallery. The paintings are the result of a two-year project that began in 2010 when Terry asked friends and family to share their alter egos with her.

About The Incognito Project’s four parts:
• An Art Event- In 2010 Terry invited friends and family to reveal their alter egos, their secret selves for a portrait series. She held a costume party/photo shoot at her studio.
• Painting the work – She designed and painted 25 paintings over the span of a couple of years.
• A Book- The final product, published by Matter Deep Publishing, is a 9”x12”, full-color, hard-covered, limited-edition book, chronicles the two year portrait series. It features high-resolution details of the art, written reflections about the subjects, and a foreword by Graham C. Beoettcher, PHD, the American Art curator at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
• An Exhibition of the Ensuing Work- The work will be shown at Art Folk Gallery, Nov 3, 2012, 5-9 pm, Young and Vann Building, 1731 First Avenue North, Birmingham, AL
