Karole Marois, military art and portraits
“The Parade” is part of the traveling exhibition “A Brush with War: military art from Korea to Afghanistan“. This exhibition, organized by the Canadian War Museum, travelled across Canada from 2009 to 2012.
“As an artist with the Canadian Forces Artist Program (CFAP). I was provided with a remarkable opportunity to witness the training of Canadian soldiers up close and translate my observations into a visual language. I traveled with soldiers and veterans for three weeks in 2005, during the commemorations of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Holland.”
“The Parade” is a new acquisition for the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa Canada and is part of its permanent art collection in 2012.
