Nils Gleyen, figurative painting the world of Haute Couture

Nils Gleyen is a painter drawing his inspiration from the world of Haute Couture and fashion in general.

His association with houses in Paris and London such as Pierre Balmain, Hermes, Lulu Guinness, Anoushka Hempel initially revealed in him a passion for fashion illustration soon followed by paintings.

He has been published in the Tatler, Harper"s Bazaar, Vogue and many more high fashion magazines.

He has been living in various European countries in the United States, Asia and the Middle East. He now lives between Bordeaux in France and Marrakesh in Morocco.

The central and unique theme of his paintings is the female in full regalia, often haughty, sometimes cruel, and always beautiful and intriguing.

"I create my own imaginary catwalk like any celebrated designer with these magnificent gals in their whimsical and very closey observed costumes. They are the fashionistas of my own personal universe and imagination that remains ever fascinating me."
