Art Medium: portraits, painting
I like to refer to my technique as contemporary realism, and I work in two different mediums: soft pastel and oil. While my use of these mediums is in keeping with traditional methods, I have been experimenting with different surfaces. In my pastel work I having been trying non-traditional papers. You can see an example of this in my demonstration of a still life on Mexican Bark Paper in progress on my blog. I am also enjoying painting on copper which back in the day was a typical support for oil, but is a bit more unusual to find these days.
